Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan Thereek-e-Insaf claims that the ex-Vice President of their party and ex foreign minister has been arrested once again. Federal Investigation Agency FIA, has taken Qureshi into custody at its headquarters.
He has been arrested following a media conference in which he stated that they will move to supreme courts over delay in elections; afterwards, he moved to FIA headquarters. Islamabad Police also confirmed his arrest news.
Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi was illegally arrested after this press conference today.

Earlier in July, Qureshi and Umar also appeared before FIA’s JIT investigating cypher. It is said that the recent arrest is amid cypher case.
The JIT is carrying out the investigation on the direction of the former cabinet which alleges that former prime minister Imran Khan, his associates including Qureshi and his former principal secretary prejudiced the national security and interest of the state by directly revealing classified information—a diplomatic cypher—without proper authorization.
It also accuses them of misuse and unauthorized retention of the cipher telegram.
On March 27, 2022, ahead of a vote of no-trust that resulted in his ouster, Imran Khan had pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and waved it at the crowd attending a massive public meeting in Islamabad, claiming it was evidence of an “international conspiracy” being hatched to topple his government.
