Premiers under pressure to reopen state borders after Australia reaches coronavirus milestone

There are fresh calls to reopen state borders immediately after Australia recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 for the first time since the peak of the pandemic.

There were just two new cases across the entire country on Tuesday, both of which were acquired overseas.

All states and territories except New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT have put some border restrictions in place to limit coronavirus transmission, so is it now time for them to reopen?
