Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade Commerce and Industry
Signed MOU with Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce in Sydney on Thursday, 28th June, 2018
Prominent members of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), including the President of the chamber, Mr Shabbir Hussain Chawla are currently on a visit to Australia.
Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade Commerce and Industry (APC) also held discussions with FCCI and hosted a dinner to fete the distinguished guests from Pakistan. On arrival of the guests, Muhammad Asif, the president of APC formally welcomed the guests and provided a brief description of the aims and objectives of the host organisation. He highlighted the benefits of collaboration between FCCI and APC and vowed to strengthen the relations between the two chambers.
Abdul Majid Yousfani, the Council General of Pakistan Consulate in Sydney, also spoke on the occasion and emphasized the need for Pakistan business community to actively seek opportunities in Australia and offered his services to promote the Pakistani businesses in the local marketplace.
Replying to the kind words of the Council General, the president of FCCI, Mr Shabbir Hussain Chawla, thanked APC for hosting the dinner and welcomed the support he was offered by the Council General. He was highly satisfied with his discussions with the local business community and could foresee a great potential for business development in Australia. Engr. Suhail Bin Rashid, the ex-president of FCCI also echoed the sentiments of his colleague and offered a great advice for the two chambers to appoint a liaison officer from the two sides for regular contacts between the two chambers.
Mr Hasan Kanji, the honorary Investment Consul also spoke on the occasion and reminded the participants about business opportunities away from the big cities in Australia and in the neighbouring countries such as Fiji.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on the occasion to commit the two chambers to further collaboration. The MOU is likely to pave the way for a lasting and fruitful relationship between the two chambers.
Mr Muhammad Asif presented the trophy to Mr Shabbir Hussain Chawla as a good gesture for visiting Australia and vice versa Mr Chawla also presented trophy to Mr Asif on this memorable occasion.
Finally, a sumptuous dinner was served and the light conversation among the participants lasted well into the night over the traditional Pakistani food. It would be amiss not to mention the famed and hilarious ‘jugat bazi’ of Faisalabad, as aptly demonstrated by some of the FCCI delegates particularly Mr Naveed Ahmed of Rashid Textile Printing, that brought great fun and laughter to the gathering.
