Mr Muhammad Asif, President, Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade, Commerce & Industry with his team visited Canberra to see new High Commissioner for Pakistan Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri. The delegation was comprising of Mr. Ejaz Paracha, Vice President, Dr. Aftab Rizvi, Vice President, Mr. Mohammed Abid, Treasurer, Mr. Habib Rehman, Public Relations Executive, Mr. Sarfraz Aslam, Joint Secretary. The intention of visit was to introduce and discuss trade opportunities between Australia & Pakistan.
Mr. Asif introduced his team members with High Commissioner of Pakistan informing about investments made by the office bearers of APC team. He also advised sector by sector individually investment made through APC members. The team asked various questions in regards to further investment opportunities
in Pakistan. The main concern was sending business payments to commercial accounts in Pakistan. The High Commissioner showed his concern for this problem and informed that Pakistan High Commission will arrange a webinar inviting concerned State Bank of Pakistan officials, representatives from Board of Investment and FBR representatives to attend this webinar. Another question was how to protect hard earn money by overseas Pakistanis for the investment in Pakistan. High Commissioner showed his full confidence that after the change of government in Pakistan things has changed, which are not the same as per previous practice. Bilateral trade between Australia and Pakistan were also discussed as to how it can be increased. IT sector business was also discussed by Dr. Aftab Rizvi, who will be providing further details to High Commissioner on this project.
Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, High Commissioner of Pakistan assured his full support to Mr. Muhammad Asif, President, Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade, Commerce & Industry that he will always support APC team for improving trade volume between the two countries.
