A seven-member Business Delegation from Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry(LCCI) visited Australia from 14 to 20 February 2017 to attend meetings with the local business community and foreign trade-related institutions here in Australia. Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney played a vital role in bridging the gap between the Australian and Pakistani stakeholders by organising their meeting. The delegation headed by Mr. Abdul Basit, President Lahore LCCI arrived in Sydney on 14-02-2017 to explore business opportunities in Australia with a focus on exports from Pakistan and to attract inward investment of Pakistan.
During the visit in Australia, the Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Abdul Majid Yousfani hosted a dinner at his residence in the honour of delegation. The dinner was attended by the prominent business man and dignitaries of Australia that includes Mr. Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Mr. Muhamad Asif, CEO Easylink Group, Mr. Qalb e Abbas Rana President Pakistan Association of Australia , Mr. Shahid Iqbal, Mr. Zain Sharif, Mr. Shoaib Haroon COSTCO Group, Mr. Munir Mohammad and others.
The community members and business man enjoyed the scrumptious food and hospitality of Consul General for arranging a dinner in the honour of visiting delegation.
It will not be out of place to mention here that the leader of the delegation highlighted the encouragement, support and help provided by the Pakistani Mission in Sydney and Canberra to make their visit fruitful and successful.
Mr. Abdul Basit, President LCCI was of the view that the delegates have been able to identify the business opportunities in Australia. He also mentioned the importance of cooperation at the level of chambers of commerce of the two countries and participation from Pakistan in the forthcoming World Chambers Congress scheduled to be held in Sydney with effect from 19-21 sept 2017.
