
The Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry hosted an elegant welcome dinner in honour of the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Australia, His Excellency Mr. Irfan Shaukat, on 13 December 2025 at Lal Qila Restaurant, Dural.
The occasion was arranged to deepen engagement between the Pakistani and Australian business communities and to advance bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering of business leaders, diplomats, elected officials, and community representatives.
His Excellency Mr. Irfan Shaukat, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Australia, graced the evening as Chief Guest. The program featured addresses by Mr. Muhammad Asif, President of the Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Qamer Zaman, Consul General of Pakistan. Proceedings were skilfully conducted by Mr. Hamza Asif, who served as Master of Ceremonies.
The evening was further enriched by the presence of prominent guests, including Mr. Mark Hodges MP, Member of Parliament; Dr. Michelle Byrne, Mayor of The Hills Shire Council; and Mr. Gianluca, Consul General of Italy, highlighting the strong multicultural and diplomatic participation.
In his remarks, Mr. Muhammad Asif outlined the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations, support entrepreneurship, and foster meaningful business partnerships between Australia and Pakistan. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with government institutions to drive sustainable economic growth.
His Excellency Mr. Irfan Shaukat commended the Chamber for its role in uniting diverse stakeholders and reaffirmed the High Commission’s full support for initiatives that enhance economic diplomacy and community engagement.
Mr. Qamer Zaman, Consul General of Pakistan, also stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to facilitate trade, investment, and commercial collaboration.
The strong turnout reflected significant interest and support from the business and professional community.
Looking ahead, the Australia Pakistan Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry outlined plans for future collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission and the Pakistan Consulate General in Sydney. Proposed initiatives include joint business forums, investment seminars, trade delegations, and networking events aimed at further strengthening economic ties between Australia and Pakistan.
The evening concluded with a shared resolve to pursue long-term cooperation, mutual prosperity, and stronger institutional partnerships.
