MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER
I would like to congratulate Sangat Magazine as it celebrates its first anniversary during
this auspicious time of Eid al Adha.The community media in New South Wales plays a valuable role in our multicultural
society and I congratulate Sangat Magazine for a successful year informing the Australian Islamic community.Eid al Adha is one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar and recalls
Abraham’s test of obedience after being ordered to sacrifice his son.This is a time of faith, prayer and charity, as the sacrificial feast feeds both the family and the needy.
We are fortunate to live in a harmonious society and the NSW Government remains
committed to maintaining peace in our multicultural society and I welcome initiatives from
the State’s Muslim community that promote interfaith understanding.On behalf of the NSW Government, it is my pleasure to extend best wishes to readers of
Sangat Magazine and all Australians marking Eid al Adha.Eid Mubarak.
