Two new books of Ashraf Shad were launched in Sydney in a well-attended gathering of art and literature loving people. Mr Abdul Majid yousfani, the Consul General of Pakistan, was the Chief Guest and Dr Shabbir Haider, Patron of Urdu International Australia, was presiding.
Dr Yasmeen Shad and Huma Mirza were the joint compare.
‘Judge Saheb’ is the 14th book of Ashraf Shad and his fourth novel in a series of his political fiction like ‘Wazeere Azam’ and ‘Sadre Mohtaram’. The other book ‘The critical evaluation of Ashraf Shad literary works’ was based on an MPhil theses of Amna Chaudhary, an academic of Garrison University Lahore.
The leading Sydney academics, lawyers, critics and writers spoke highly of latest novel by Ashraf Shad and paid him tributes for his writing excellence.
The clips of Mr Shad’s TV interviews in Pakistani and Indian televisions were also shown along with the ceremony of Ashraf Shad receiving Prime Minister Literary Award from the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Judge Saheb was also launched last year in Islamabad by the then chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, the recording from the function and speeches by Amjad Islam Amjad an Mujahid Barelvi were also shown on the big screen of Civic Theatre.
Those who spoke on the occasion include Dr Abbas Zaidi, Barrister Pervaiz Buttar, Dr Baqar Raza, Prof. Raees Alvi, Sadiq Arif, Ejaz Khan Solicitor, Dr Mohammad Ali, Rehan Alvi, Tariq Mirza and Farhat Iqbal.
